The first trailer for the third season of Ted Lasso has been released by Apple. You can watch it in full below.
The first preview of the show directly follows the events of season two as Nate, newly departed from AFC Richmond, takes up a role at West Ham United under the ownership of Rupert (Anthony Head), the ex-husband of Richmond head honcho Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham).
Elsewhere, Ted, Roy Kent and Coach Beard seem to be navigating their own on-pitch issues, while Keeley is seen getting to grips with her role as the boss of a newly established PR firm.
An official synopsis states: “The newly-promoted AFC Richmond faces ridicule as media predictions widely peg them as last in the Premier League and Nate (Nick Mohammed), now hailed as the ‘wonder kid,’ has gone to work for Rupert (Anthony Head) at West Ham United. In the wake of Nate’s contentious departure from Richmond, Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) steps up as assistant coach, alongside Beard (Brendan Hunt).
“Meanwhile, while Ted (Jason Sudeikis) deals with pressures at work, he continues to wrestle with his own personal issues back home, Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) is focused on defeating Rupert and Keeley (Juno Temple) navigates being the boss of her own PR agency. Things seem to be falling apart both on and off the pitch, but Team Lasso is set to give it their best shot anyway.”
The show debuted in 2020 and stars Jason Sudeikis as the titular coach, an American football boss who is brought in to manage AFC Richmond despite no experience in the world of British football. Or, soccer to those across the pond. It is based on a 2013 sketch which saw Sudeikis play the character as he took charge of real life Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.
The new season of “Ted Lasso” will debut on March 15 with new episodes dropping weekly. The season consists of 12 episodes.
