In a new video from his Rolling Stone UK cover shoot, Locke looks back on some pivotal scenes from the hit queer show ahead of its third season.
Watching back the scene of his character Charlie and Nick’s (Kit Connor) first kiss, Locke said: “That’s the scene that matters the most, and it was near the end of the shoot. It’s a very sweet scene. Sometimes I find it hard to watch [my scenes], but that one was quite nice to watch. It’s good memories.
Shown the clip of Nick coming out to his mum, Locke reflected: “This is all second hand information, but I think they had to shoot it a few times because Olivia [Colman, playing Nick’s mum] was crying.”
Locke also revealed that kissing sounds heard on TV are actually actors kissing their own hands in recording booths.

Elsewhere in the cover feature, Locke discusses his new turn in WandaVision spinoff Agatha All Along. “It’s a dark comedy about witches. It’s not what you would usually expect from a Marvel series,” Locke said, adding: “In the same way WandaVision goes through all these different subgenres of comedies, Agatha does that in a different way.
“It’s definitely darker,” he continued. “It’s actually a little bit scary, which is good. I think it’s a great start for a new journey within the MCU of exploring different types of characters that aren’t like Iron Man or Captain America. It’s a new type of superhero, which I think is exciting.”
Regarding the upcoming third season of Heartstopper, Locke added: “I think season three is the strongest. We’ve all got better at acting. I think season three is the strongest writing, the strongest everything from everyone.”
