Sam Fender returned to the stage this weekend at two gigs in the south west – watch him perform two brand new songs at his Plymouth show below.

The singer has been teasing his third album this year, and took to the stage at Plymouth Pavillions on Saturday (August 3).

At the show, Fender gave live debuts to new tracks ‘People Watching’ and ‘Nostalgia’s Lie’, both expected to feature on the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2021’s Seventeen Going Under.

Earlier this year, Fender shared an update on the new album and admitted that he feels like he “rushed” to release Seventeen Going Under.

“We have been recording and recording and making loads of stuff but it got to the point where I thought, ‘We don’t need to get this out yet. We need to get it right’,” he said.

“For the second one [Seventeen Going Under], we rushed to get that out and the third one we started rushing and I thought, ‘No, we have got to take the time’.”

Fender is yet to confirm solid release details of his third album, but he shared QR codes for preorders at his huge shows at Newcastle’s St James Park in 2023 and said it would arrive “some time next year”.

More recently, he confirmed he was in the studio with The War On Drugs’ Adam Granduciel, leading to speculation that a collaboration between the pair could be on the way.
