Sam Fender has seemingly hinted at the start of a new campaign after telling fans to “get ready” for incoming news.

The Geordie singer confirmed the completion of his third album earlier this month, while live shows this summer saw him debut the anthemic song ‘People Watching’ and a second song called ‘Nostalgia’s Lie’.

Now, Fender’s website appears to be counting down to a new announcement at midnight this Friday (October 18). Fans are able to access a new sign up link which tells them to “get ready” for new updates.

“Alreeet. Thanks for joining. News very soon. Make sure you’re following below,” an email from Fender also reads, above links to his social media pages.

It also features a new photo of the singer, and the track title of ‘People Watching’ – which hints at its release.

A separate countdown on Fender’s website also points to an announcement on Wednesday November 13, with some fans speculating it could be a mixture of live shows and new music being announced on separate days.

Sam Fender’s last album came in 2021’s acclaimed Seventeen Going Under, which saw him grace the first ever cover of Rolling Stone UK.

He has been working on the follow-up with The War On Drugs’ Adam Granduciel and spoke earlier this year of the need to “get it right”.

In an interview with Mark Knopfler and Brian Johnson, Fender said of his next record: “We have been recording and recording and making loads of stuff but it got to the point where I thought, ‘We don’t need to get this out yet. We need to get it right’.

“For the second one [Seventeen Going Under], we rushed to get that out and the third one we started rushing and I thought, ‘No, we have got to take the time’.

“I want to do the best I possibly can. I’d rather it be late and great than early and shite,” he added. “What we have got so far I am absolutely over the moon with but I want to give it that bit more time and more thought.”
