Sam Fender has shared a third preview of his upcoming album, People Watching – listen to new single ‘Arm’s Length’ below.

The singer-songwriter’s third studio album lands on February 14 and has been previewed by its title track and the recent single ‘Wild Long Lie’.

According to Fender, ‘Arm’s Length’ “originally came from one of those magic moments where you’re just messing around, and a song literally falls out of the sky. It’s about being avoidant and flighty. But also, just a simple pop song, which I love”.

At the end of last year, Fender was forced to postpone the final details of his UK arena tour after sustaining damage to his vocal cords.

Explaining that he was “absolutely heartbroken,” Fender said in a statement: “This has been the best tour so far and all I want to do is get up and sing again for you all tonight.”

Fender explained that he had been suffering with the flu and discovered the damage after examination from a ear, nose and throat (ENT) team.

In a five-star review of his show at London’s O2 Arena last month, Rolling Stone UK wrote: “What’s clear from tonight is that Fender is capable of slaying the biggest of stages with – to borrow an image from one of his heroes – all the ease of Paul Gascoigne gliding through an opposition defence. Now it’s over to you, Emily Eavis.”
