Sam Fender has announced a series of new outdoor UK headline shows for this summer, expanding the tour around his upcoming third album.
The singer will release new album People Watching next Friday (February 21), with stadium shows in Newcastle and London already set for the summer.
Now, he will also play three August shows at Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park, Edinburgh’s Summer Sessions at the Royal Highland Showgrounds and Belfast’s VITAL series at the Boucher Road Playing Fields.
Support comes from Olivia Dean in Manchester and Edinburgh, and CMAT in Belfast.
Fans who have pre-ordered People Watching can register for pre-sale tickets until Monday, February 17 at 10am GMT, which will then go on sale the following day at 11am GMT. General sale tickets are on sale on Friday, February 21 at 10am GMT. Buy your tickets here.
At the end of last year, Fender was forced to postpone the final details of his UK arena tour after sustaining damage to his vocal cords.
Explaining that he was “absolutely heartbroken,” Fender said in a statement: “This has been the best tour so far and all I want to do is get up and sing again for you all tonight.”
Fender explained that he had been suffering with the flu and discovered the damage after examination from a ear, nose and throat (ENT) team.
In a five-star review of his show at London’s O2 Arena last month, Rolling Stone UK wrote: “What’s clear from tonight is that Fender is capable of slaying the biggest of stages with – to borrow an image from one of his heroes – all the ease of Paul Gascoigne gliding through an opposition defence. Now it’s over to you, Emily Eavis.”
In other recent Sam Fender news, the singer will release a new EP in April as part of his role as Record Store Day ambassador for 2025. He also shared a new video for the album’s title track, starring Andrew Scott.
