Rihanna has confirmed she’s expecting her first child with boyfriend A$AP Rocky.
The Barbadian singer, 33, proudly showed off her baby bump in a series of snaps taken during a recent photoshoot in New York with her partner.
Photos from the shoot showed Rihanna wearing a bubblegum pink puffer jacket and jeans, with her baby bump clearly on show under the clothes.
The pop icon is believed to have known the 33-year-old rapper for over a decade, but they officially began their relationship back in 2020.
Confirming their romance last year, A$AP Rocky hailed Rihanna as “the love of [his life]”.
He told GQ: “She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones. I think when you know, you know. She’s the one.”
In March 2020, Rihanna also told British Vogue where she saw herself in 10 years and opened up about a future with a family.
“I’ll have kids — three or four of ’em,” she said.
While A$AP Rocky is the father of her unborn child, she admitted at the time that she would be up for having children alone, without a partner.
“Hell, yeah, [I’d have kids on my own]. I feel like society makes me want to feel like, ‘Oh, you got it wrong…’ They diminish you as a mother if there’s not a dad in your kids’ lives,” she said.
“But the only thing that matters is happiness, that’s the only healthy relationship between a parent and a child. That’s the only thing that can raise a child truly, is love.”
Fans are also eagerly awaiting the release of Rihanna’s next album – which will be her first since 2016’s ‘Anti’.
While a release date for the anticipated record is yet to materialise, the singer most recently said that fans should expect a “completely different sound” from her ninth record.
“You’re not gonna expect what you hear, just put that in your mind. Whatever you know of Rihanna’s not gonna be what you hear,” she told AP last September.
“I’m really experimenting, and music is like fashion, you should be able to play, I should be able to wear whatever I want and I treat music the same way. So, I’m having fun, and it’s going to be completely different.”
Her most recent release came in the form of a feature on a 2020 single from Canadian artist PartyNextDoor, ‘Believe It’.
