The impact of Oasis’ reunion on streaming services has been highlighted by Spotify, with the streaming giant revealing how the comeback announcement saw a huge increase in the band’s already impressive numbers.

Liam and Noel Gallagher will play their first gigs together in 16 years at UK venues including London’s Wembley Stadium and Manchester’s Heaton Park this summer, with the tour later going onto AustraliaNorth America, South America and Asia.

Now, Spotify has revealed the impact of their reunion as part of a global campaign celebrating some of today’s top fandoms.

Among the key findings was the revelation that searches for the band increased by 785 per cent in the wake of last year’s announcement. In the week that followed, fans also added ‘Wonderwall’ to more than 511,000 user-generated playlists on the platform.

When the wider impact is studied, fans around the world have added music by Oasis to more than 97million user-generated playlists on Spotify. And when it came to individual cities, London, Jakarta, Dublin, Santiago and São Paulo clocked in as the top 5 cities where Oasis is listened to most by fans on Spotify globally.

It comes as Spotify unveils a new campaign dedicated to artist fandoms, focusing on the likes of Oasis, Olivia Rodrigo and Doechii. Visuals from each artist will feature in key fan hubs in the UK and across the globe, including London, New York and LA.
