The UK’s entry for Eurovision this year will be the trio Remember Monday, singing ‘WTHJH (What The Hell Just Happened?)’.

The trio – Charlotte, Holly and Lauren – describe themselves as “pop girlies with a lil bit of yeehaw” and unveiled their entry on Scott Mills’ BBC Radio 2 breakfast show this morning.

Their effort is destined to capture the attention of the continent, blending traditional country elements with shades of power pop and, arguably, even a splash of Chappell Roan.

Remember Monday co-wrote the song with Billen Ted (Tom Hollings and Sam Brennan), Thomas Stengaard and Julie ‘Kill J’ Aagaard.

They are already an online hit, amassing over half a million followers on TikTok and participating in series eight of The Voice in 2019.

“‘What The Hell Just Happened?’ is exactly how we’re feeling right now! It’s all very surreal; our friendship goes so far back, and we definitely never imagined that we’d be doing anything like this,” said Remember Monday.

“We’re going to be the first girlband to represent for the UK since 1999, which feels like such a crazy honour. We’re going to bring loads of fun, energy and hopefully do something that you won’t have seen before on the Eurovision stage…. This is really the music World Cup and we’ll do our best to bring it home!”

The trio met as teenagers at college in Farnham, Surrey and have previously appeared on the West End stage.

The grand final of the Eurovision song contest 2025 takes place in Basel, Switzerland, on Saturday 17 May. Last year saw Olly Alexander finish in 18th place with his song ‘Dizzy’, while Mae Muller came second-bottom in 2023. Here’s hoping the group can emulate a closer success to Sam Ryder – who finished second in 2022.
