Photo of Noel Gallagher to be displayed at National Portrait Gallery

A photograph of Noel Gallagher is set to go on display at London’s National Portrait Gallery later this year.
The portrait of the Oasis man by photographer Zoe Law will go on show from this November as part of the gallery’s new Legends collection.
Speaking of the exhibition, Gallagher said: “The thought of the portrait of a grumpy middle-aged man, who frankly hates having his picture taken, being permanently displayed for future generations to marvel at is very special. Thanks and praise.”
Law added: “It is the greatest honour that my portrait of the legend Noel Gallagher has been acquired by the National Portrait Gallery – a lasting legacy that all portrait photographers and artists dream of.”
Also featured in the Legends exhibition will be photos of actor Orlando Bloom, late footballer Bobby Charlton and more in an entirely black-and-white collection.
Next summer, Gallagher will reunite with his brother Liam for a huge Oasis tour, which has already been fraught with controversy.
Fans of the Britpop icons sat in virtual queues for hours earlier this month as they attempted to get tickets to the group’s hugely anticipated UK and Ireland reunion tour next year. Soon after, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said it had launched an investigation into sales for the band’s upcoming tour, including the controversial “dynamic pricing” used by Ticketmaster.
Liam then seemingly dismissed criticism over the controversy, telling one fan to “shut up”.
