The singers capped off Lorde's set at the Budapest festival yesterday with her ‘Melodrama’ hit
Lorde performed her 2017 single ‘Green Light’ with Caroline Polachek at Sziget Festival, Budapest yesterday (August 14).
The Kiwi singer performed on the main stage for the penultimate night of the the six-day festival, which has taken place from August 10 to August 15.
To close out the 16-song set that featured fan-favourites including ‘Royals’ and ‘Solar Power’ along with a new track ‘Silver Moon’, Lorde brought Polachek onstage to sing the Melodrama track with her she’d taken to the stage for her own slot earlier in the day.
“Give it up for Lorde,” Polachek said at the end of the performance, which saw them dance around the stage and sing to each other, before Lorde told the crowd: “Caroline Polachek, everybody!

Reposting a snippet of the performance on her Instagram story, Lorde wrote that it was a “BIG BIG MOMENT”, adding in another slide: “This b***h …. i’m telling u …. A true honour to share the stage with Queen Caroline in my new favourite city.”
Performing at Boardmasters in Newquay, Cornwall this month, Lorde debuted another new track which appears to be titled ‘Invisible Ink’. However, she later assured fans in an Instagram post that “this is not the start of anything out there”, but added “just want u to know there’s a light on inside me .. show it to you soon.”
Lorde’s last album, Solar Power, was released back in 2021. She’s dubbed the current festival run the ‘Night Power’ tour. One year after the album’s release, Lorde reflected on its polarising reception, writing in a newsletter to fans: “It took people a while to get the album – I still get emails every day from people who are just coming around to it now! – and that response was really confounding and at times painful to sit with at first.”
Back in February she told Ensemble that it’s “always my intention to move as quickly as I fucking can” when it comes to new music. She added: “I don’t want to wait, so take from that what you will.”
She added: “I learnt a ton about myself and how I’m perceived by making and releasing this album, and I feel significantly more connected and alive in my art practice and life than pretty much ever before. Sounds dry but true!!!”
Meanwhile, Polachek’s latest album, Desire, I Want To Turn Into You, came out in February this year, which featured a collaboration with Grimes and Dido on ‘Fly To You’ along with singles ‘Bunny Is A Rider’, ‘Billions’ and ‘Sunset’.
