Watch Johnny Marr join PJ Harvey at Manchester gig
They played ‘The Desperate Kingdom Of Love’, ‘C’mon Billy’ and ‘White Chalk’
PJ Harvey concluded her UK tour in Manchester last night (October 3) and was joined on stage by Smiths legend Johnny Marr.
Harvey was playing the second of two gigs at the city’s Albert Hall, where she played her new album I Inside The Old Year Dying in full, before returning for a second set of older material.
Welcoming Marr to the stage at the end of the second set to perform ‘The Desperate Kingdom Of Love’, Harvey said: “I’d like to welcome a very special guest to the stage – please welcome Johnny Marr.”
After that song, they proceeded to play an encore together of ‘C’mon Billy’ and ‘White Chalk’. After the gig, Marr said on social media: “Brilliant show by the amazing @PJHarveyUK and her magic band,” he wrote. “A real privilege to play those songs. Love ya Polly.”
