Ed Sheeran protégé Maisie Peters had a surprise for her audience on the night she wrapped her “Road to Wembley” tour. While playing her biggest headline show to date, Peters brought out Sheeran himself. “My boss,” she announced, as the crowd laughed and cheered. “He let me play his Wembley, so I figured I should let him play mine,” said Peters.
Sheeran walked out onstage, remarking, “This is so amazing to watch. I’ve been watching with a smile on my face.” The two then launched into Sheeran’s song, “Lego House,” from his debut album, +.
“This is the first song I heard of Ed Sheeran’s,” said Peters. “This is my first favourite Ed Sheeran song.”
In July, Peters opened up to Rolling Stone about her second album, The Good Witch. “It’s a perfect continuation from my first. This album to me, it’s sort of a twisted break-up album,” she said. “It chronicles the last year of my life. It’s not a concept album, because it’s all very real, but I do think it walks this line between realism and surrealism, and the truth and what version of the truth was that last year.”
Peters spent the summer on the road, opening for Sheeran between headlining her own shows. While Peters has finished up her UK tour, she is set to embark on the European leg in 2024.
