Tom Morello has spoken of his love for Nova Twins, calling them “an incredible band who deserve to be huge.”
The Rage Against the Machine guitarist recalled the first time he saw the London rock duo – friends Amy Love and Georgia South – during one of their soundchecks.
“Everything about it is great,” he said.
“There’s a tremendous musicianship, a raw intensity as well as a fantastic vibe and an underlying sense of purpose. They’re one of my favourite bands,” he said.
The veteran axeman has tipped the self-described ‘urban punk’ upstarts for the top, pegging them as genuine musical ground-breakers in the years ahead.
“Over the course of three decades, I’ve seen a lot of great bands that deserve to get their dues but they don’t. Nova Twins are already on that road to really being a game-changer,” he told NME.
Morello was speaking ahead of the release of his latest solo album, ‘The Atlas Underground Fire’, which arrives next Friday (October 15) via Mom + Pop Music.
Typically for the prolific collaborator, the record features an A-list guest cast, including Bruce Springsteen and Eddie Vedder on the lead single, a radical reimagining of AC/DC’s ‘Highway to Hell’.
In 2022, Morello and his Rage Against the Machine bandmates will finally head out on their reunion tour of the U.S. with Run the Jewels, one that had originally been intended as a political one-two punch ahead of the 2020 election.
He was tight-lipped on the prospect of UK dates or fresh material from the LA funk metal outfit, but appears game to work with Nova Twins if the opportunity arises.
“Anytime they want to record a song together, I’m here. Actually, maybe I’ll reach out today!”
