The Weeknd has shared a fresh teaser online, hinting that new music could be arriving later this week.

The singer – real name Abel Tesfaye – has been teasing fans with the idea of new music in recent months – with many wondering if the third and final chapter to his  ‘After Hours’ and ‘Dawn FM’ trilogy could be on the way.

Now, he’s sparked speculation once more by sharing a gif from his ‘Blinding Lights’ music video alongside the cryptic caption: “Saturday we ride at dawn”.

Though the singer is yet to comment on what the announcement could be, the singer will play a one-off date at the Estádio MorumBIS venue in São Paulo, so his post might be a reflection of that.

He has, however, been sharing snippets of new music online in recent months. In July, one snippet came alongside a cryptic teaser and a caption that quoted German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. “When you gaze long enough into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you…,” Tesfaye wrote.

He told Variety of new music in 2023: “I’m finishing the third part of this saga, of this trilogy. The name of it will come out soon, but it’s not called what some fans think it’s called… what they think it’s called is actually a song on the album, but that’s not what the actual album is called [some fans speculated that it would be titled ‘After Life’]. So I’m just gonna say that.”
