Sam Ryder announces debut album, ‘There’s Nothing But Space, Man!’
The Eurovision sensation's first LP is out in November
By Joe Goggins
Sam Ryder has announced details of his debut album, nearly four months after securing the UK’s best result at Eurovision since 1998.
The Essex singer-songwriter, who was propelled to the Eurovision nomination by his rise to prominence on TikTok during the first COVID-19 lockdown, will release There’s Nothing But Space, Man! on November 18, having signed with Parlophone Records.
You can see the full track listing below, along with details of a headline tour of the UK next spring, Ryder’s biggest yet. The winter release of the album will cap a remarkable 2022 for the 33-year-old, who recorded his country’s highest-ever points tally at the Eurovision final in Turin in May and topped the jury poll, only being pipped to the top prize by Ukraine in the public vote.
His Eurovision entry, ‘Space Man’, made it to number two on the UK singles chart. This past Saturday (September 3), Ryder joined the surviving members of Foo Fighters and Queen at Wembley Stadium to perform a show-stopping rendition of the latter’s ‘Somebody to Love’ at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert.
Addressing his fans in an open letter accompanying the record’s announcement, Ryder said: “This year for myself and the team has been one filled with so many blessings, opportunities and dreams come to fruition. To create a body of work throughout this time representing aspects of our journey feels like the highest honour and a beautiful way to redirect the flow of energy back to the people who are making this whirlwind possible – you. Biggest thank yous, and I hope you enjoy it!”
