Poppy Ajudha releases emotional new single ‘Change Your Mind’
"To all future prospects... break my heart... I dare you!"
Poppy Ajudha is back with an emotional new solo single, ‘Change Your Mind’.
The stripped-back song shows off her vocals and comes after she appeared on Swindle’s ‘DARKEST HOUR’ with Daley back in August.
Poppy’s latest track is slower and soulful with solid harmonies, in contrast to some of the jazz-inspired songs she’s previously released.
She shared the news of the single with an Instagram post, writing: “To all future prospects… break my heart… I dare you! Change Your Mind, tomorrow.”
At the start of the year, she released ‘Weakness’, which she described as a “song about love.”

Ajudha has been keeping busy with the collabs, and previously worked with Mahalia on ‘Low Ride’, and also featured on Moses Boyd’s ‘Shades of You’.
She also released her own songs, ‘Black Joy. Black Peace. Black Justice.’ and ‘Strong Womxn’ as well as a cover of Herbie Hancock’s “Watermelon Man”.
Poppy was also nominated for Best Jazz Act at the Urban Music Awards last month.

There isn’t a music video yet for ‘Change Your Mind’, but Poppy has been very hands-on with her projects in the past.
For her ‘Weakness’ video, she said: “Self-directing was really fun. I’m a control freak so it was great to get stuck into all the facets of making a music video. Choosing the team, the makeup looks, directing the styling ideas, writing the narrative, working out how to build the set.
“It definitely felt like a challenge to direct, star in and perform choreographed moves for the first time but I love to push myself and am really glad I did.”
‘Change Your Mind’ is out now.
