Ozzy Osbourne says America’s mass shootings prompted move back to UK

Ozzy Osbourne has revealed that America’s large number of mass shootings is a significant reason as to why he is returning to the UK, adding that he’s “fed up with people getting killed every day”.
Speaking in a new interview with The Observer, the Black Sabbath frontman and wife Sharon spoke about why they are relocating back to the UK and selling their LA mansion.
“America has changed so drastically. It isn’t the United States of America at all. Nothing’s united about it. It’s a very weird place to live right now,” Sharon said, insisting it’s nothing to do with her husband’s health.
Ozzy agreed: “Everything’s fucking ridiculous there. I’m fed up with people getting killed every day. God knows how many people have been shot in school shootings. And there was that mass shooting in Vegas at that concert… It’s fucking crazy.
“And I don’t want to die in America. I don’t want to be buried in fucking Forest Lawn,” he says, referring to the LA cemetery where many Hollywood celebrities are buried. “I’m English. I want to be back. But saying that, if my wife said we’ve got to go and live in Timbuktu, I’ll go.” He adds: “But, no, it’s just time for me to come home.”
The pair plan to move into their 350-acre Buckinghamshire estate.
Ozzy has suffered numerous health problems in recent years, including Parkinson’s and surgery to fix his neck after a bathroom fall in January 2019, in addition to blood clots, nerve pain and depression.
Earlier this month, Osbourne and Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi made a surprise reunion in their hometown of Birmingham with a performance at the Commonwealth Games.
Osbourne also reflected on how he nearly didn’t make the show. “Since I had my [first neck] surgery and everything got fucked up, it’s been three or four years since I’ve performed. And I was thinking it’ll never happen again. But that show’s given me a bit of hope.”
They performed Black Sabbath classic ‘Paranoid’ alongside the two musicians who joined them on their final tour, The End – Adam Wakeman, who played bass and keyboards, and drummer Tommy Clufetos.
