Oasis drop biggest hint at reunion yet as they tease major announcement
It seems like the unlikely is finally happening...

Liam and Noel Gallagher have both seemingly confirmed the growing speculation that Oasis will reunite next summer, after a weekend of heightened speculation.
Both brothers shared a cryptic video message shared in Oasis’ classic font style, which teased the date 27.08.24 and an announcement at 8AM.
It comes amid rumours that the iconic British group will reunite for ten shows at London’s Wembley Stadium next summer, and a further ten at Manchester’s Heaton Park.
Earlier this weekend, The Times claimed that “industry insiders” had confirmed that Oasis would reunite onstage for the first time since August 2009, with an announcement imminent, perhaps as early as this Tuesday. The rumours quickly spread to social media Saturday, eventually catching the attention of Liam Gallagher, who tweeted in response to fans inquiries, “News to me” and “I know nothing.”
As the day progressed, however, Gallagher — perhaps truthfully, perhaps mockingly — began the fan the flames of the reunion rumours. When one fan said they were “scared” about Tuesday’s potential announcement, Gallagher tweeted, “Your scared how do you think I feel.”
Most tellingly, when one fan complained about Oasis playing Heaton Park, a “terrible venue,” Liam quipped back, “See you down the front you big fanny.”
The teasing continued Sunday morning: When asked when the tour dates will be announced, Liam said, “Nxt Friday.” When asked about his plans for 2025, he tweeted, “World domination.”
“I never did like that word FORMER,” Gallagher added in a standalone tweet. The singer also berated a bunch of naysayers with a series of “SHUTUP” and “Your attitude stinks.”
Noel is yet to directly comment on the rumours – aside from sharing the video – but he seems to have shared a softened stance towards his brother in recent weeks.
A new video saw Gallagher speak to journalist John Robb at Manchester’s Sifters Records, for a new video interview as Oasis gear up to celebrate 30 years of Definitely Maybe next Friday.
Hailing Liam’s vocal abilities in the clip, Noel said: “I can’t sing ‘Slide Away’ and ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ and ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Star’ and ‘Columbia’ and all that.
“I mean I can do it but it’s not the same. It’s the delivery or the tone of his voice and the attitude. I don’t have the same attitude as him.”
In contrast, recent years have seen the pair at protracted loggerheads ever since a back stage bust at Paris’ Rock En Seine Festival in 2009 saw the group reach its end.
In June 2023, Rolling Stone spoke to Noel — who was seemingly more reluctant to reunite than Liam — about making peace with his brother. “I’ve accepted now that this is never gonna go away.” Noel said of reunion rumors.
“I’ve put it out there that if Liam really wants to do it, he should fucking call me, and he hasn’t called me, so I’m just assuming that he doesn’t want it either. Well, I know for a fact he doesn’t want it either, but he likes to paint this picture of, you know, this little fucking guy who’s sitting with his suitcase packed by the door, you know, like the little fucking cat from fucking Shrek, you know, the little fucking Spanish cat with these big fucking teary eyes. ‘I’m [gonna] go and do it now for you fans. I love you.’ It’s like, well, fucking call me then. And he hasn’t called me. And until he does, it’s fucking going nowhere.
