Noel Gallagher has shared a powerful new demo track called ‘In A Little While’. You can listen to it in full below.
The track comes after Gallagher first teased it on New Year’s Eve, sharing a snippet alongside the song title and release date.
As for the track itself, Gallagher is going for a simplistic acoustic approach, while lyrics about “starting anew” feel like an apt sentiment for the start of 2024.
“They say it’s over, well I don’t believe it/ They tell me it’s gone but that can’t be true/ And if it’s lost, well I’m gonna find it/ Turn me a page, let’s start anew,” he sings.
The release comes after Gallagher released his latest album Council Skies with High Flying Birds in 2023, which Rolling Stone UK hailed as one of our records of the year.
Hailing the album, we wrote: “‘It’s going back to the beginning. Daydreaming, looking up at the sky and wondering about what life could be,’” Noel Gallagher said earlier this year of Council Skies.
“His fourth album with High Flying Birds takes stock of his thrilling journey, resulting in some of the best songs of his solo career. There’s a touching conversation with his younger self on the psych-tinged ‘Easy Now’, while the title track drips with a 60s-esque continental swagger. When the solo material is as good as this, an Oasis reunion looks as far away as ever.”
Not one to rest on his laurels, Gallagher revealed in December 2023 that he’s heading straight back into the studio for his next album.
“In the pandemic there was nothing to do all day so I just wrote songs. There’s another two albums-worth of material there,” he told The Sun. “I think I’m going to be back in the studio in January, so we’ll see where it goes from there.”
