A new Channel 4 documentary set to air later this month will examine the allegations of sexual abuse faced by Marilyn Manson.
The shock rocker has faced criminal investigation in recent years after several women accused him of sexual abuse, including the actress Evan Rachel Wood.
Wood, the former fiancée of the singer, whose real name is Brian Warner, claimed in 2020 that he sexually and physically abused her during their relationship.
Manson filed a defamation lawsuit against her, but dropped the case in November 2024 and agreed to pay Wood’s legal fees of almost $327,000 (£260,000).
Now, Channel 4’s Marilyn Manson: Unmasked is set to take a look at the musician’s entire story across three episodes. According to a synopsis, it will examine his “meteoric rise as the self-proclaimed ‘Antichrist Superstar’ to the chilling abuse allegations that have engulfed his career”.
It will also provide “unprecedented access to archive footage, interviews with those who knew Manson, and those Manson is alleged to have abused” to provide a full portrait of the musician and his alleged behaviour.
The first episode will focus specifically on his headline-grabbing rise in Florida’s alt-rock scene of the 1990s, while the second and third will hone in on the allegations and abuse and the wider fallout of them respectively.
Manson is yet to comment on the documentary.
Marilyn Manson: Unmasked airs 14, 15, 16 January at 9pm GMT on Channel 4.
