Nell Tiger Free has shared her debut single ‘Do I Just Keep Making Things Worse?’ – you can watch the music video first on Rolling Stone UK below.

Nell, also known for playing Myrcella Baratheon on Game of Thrones, leans into hazy indie-pop for her first track, which captures the age-old romantic dilemma of being torn between letting go and the undeniable temptation of a fresh start.

The chorus, anchored around that eponymous question, sees Nell posit: “When you’re doing everything, you can keep someone close but inevitably you end up pushing them away,’ you must ask, ‘do I just keep making things worse? The answer is yes, I probably do, but at least I’m trying.”

Although primarily known for her screen appearances, Nell’s love of music was born when she received a studio session with producer Tim Bran – known for his work with London Grammar, KT Tunstall, The Verve, and Aurora – for her 15th birthday. She reconnected with Tim almost a decade later and, in a nice bit of synchronicity, he has now produced all of Nell’s upcoming songs.

As well as new music, Nell’s career on screen continues to go from strength to strength with an upcoming role in the forthcoming reboot of ’90s thriller Cliffhanger.

Expect to hear more from Nell Tiger Free soon.
