Megan Thee Stallion has given an update on forthcoming new material, teasing that her next release will be “fire”.
The Texas-born rapper’s debut studio album, ‘Good News’, came out back in November 2020. Having shared her ‘Something For Thee Hotties’ mixtape last October, the ‘WAP’ star returned with the track ‘Flamin’ Hottie’ earlier this month.
Megan is expected to release her anticipated second full-length in 2022, with live performances scheduled for this summer’s Reading & Leeds, Manchester’s Parklife and Longitude in Dublin. She’ll make further appearances at Coachella, Barcelona’s Primavera Sound among other events.
During a recent interview with E! News, Megan was asked if she could provide any teasers on what to expect from her in regards to new music.
“Y’all know I like to keep the Hotties surprised,” she responded. “Definitely… we’re getting new music and I don’t think y’all will expect this from me.”
Describing the upcoming material as “different”, Megan also signalled a new collaboration. “The next thing y’all will hear from me is with somebody you might know, somebody you might have guessed before,” she explained. “The next thing is going to be fire.”
You can watch the conversation in the tweet below.
News of Megan’s “fire” team-up comes after she recently expressed her desire to work with Adele during an interview with People. “If Adele wants me to come get on the track, be the dancer, I’m there, I’m here for it,” she told the outlet. “Somebody tell her to call me because I’m ready!”
Elsewhere in the conversation, Megan said she’d “really, really, really love” to join forces with Rihanna on a project. “Like that is my next dream collab,” she added.
Megan will headline Parklife 2022 alongside Tyler, the Creator and 50 Cent. She’ll also open for Dua Lipa on select dates of the singer’s North American tour next month. You can find Megan’s full live schedule here.
