Maisie Peters announces huge show at London’s Wembley Arena
‘This is gonna be the most magical show yet’
Maisie Peters has announced her biggest headline show to date at London’s OVO Wembley Arena.
The pop singer – who last week announced her new album The Good Witch, out June 16 – will perform at the prestigious London venue on November 3, 2023.
Pre-sale starts this Wednesday, March 1 at 10am GMT for fans who pre-order the new album from here, before general sale goes live Friday, March 3 at 10am GMT.
“i truly cannot believe I am saying this,” Peters wrote on social media, announcing the news.
“this is gonna be the most magical show yet, my biggest headline show ever + the album will be out + of course there will be fun surprises and perhaps even special guests.”
The huge show will follow live dates at Hammersmith’s Eventim Apollo (April 27), a headline slot at Liverpool’s Sound City on April 30 and a homecoming show at Brighton Dome as part of The Great Escape Festival on May 12. Peters is also on the line-up at festivals including Lollapalooza and Pinkpop,
The first taste of the singer’s second album – the follow-up to 2021 debut You Signed Up For This – arrives with lead single ‘Body Better’.
Speaking to Rolling Stone UK in a recent interview, Peters explained how the track is about when she compared her body to another girl’s, deeming it hotter and categorically better. Feeling guilty for such a thought, she explained: “I know I’m going to get people who think it’s wrong or bizarre of me to say. I’m well aware I have a lot of privilege, I’m a [UK] size 4 or 6 and white and blonde.
“Equally, it was something that was true to me. I hope that by putting it into the world it is only a force for good.”
Elaborating on the new record, she explained: “My universe, in this album at least, is something for me to destroy and to build up again how I want to.”
