Liam Gallagher has bid a fond farewell to his live band at the last solo gig he is scheduled to play before Oasis reunite next year.

The singer paid tribute to his backing band last night (September 23) at the Liam Gallagher And Friends Malta Weekender, where he toasted his hugely successful solo career ahead of the anticipated 2025 reunion.

Before finishing with ‘I Am The Walrus’, he praised his band who had “been with us from the beginning”, explaining that “this is going to be our last show for a bit, massive respect”.

“And the beautiful girls,” he added, hailing his three backing singers.

Less than 24 hours earlier, Liam treated fans to a performance of Oasis classics at Wembley Stadium, before Daniel Dubois’ successful defence of his heavyweight title against Anthony Joshua.

It’s unclear whether any of Liam’s band will join him for the Oasis shows, but recent reports suggest that his guitarist and original Oasis axeman Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs could in contention for a return to the fold.

Liam has also suggested that “there could be a few new faces” performing with the group, though the line-up is yet to be confirmed.

Tickets for the band’s comeback sold out in a single day last month, but the sale has been overshadowed by the issue of dynamic pricing – with some fans playing above the odds for tickets.

Dynamic pricing was introduced by Ticketmaster in 2022, with the ticketing giant claiming that it was introduced to stop touts and ensure a greater percentage of money goes to the artists. It works on the model that prices will go up where demand is high, but many have accused Ticketmaster of ripping fans off.

Earlier this month, consumer watchdog Which? called for refunds to be given to fans affected by the over-inflated prices.
