LCD Soundsystem have announced a live London residency at O2 Academy Brixton this summer.

After teasing the announcement with a series of projections in London earlier this week, the New York icons have confirmed they will now return to the capital in June for a run of eight shows in Brixton.

Tickets go on general sale at 9am GMT next Friday (March 7) and you’ll be able to buy them here. An O2 Priority pre-sale will also go live next Wednesday ( March 5), as well as an artist pre-sale.

LCD Soundsystem’s 2025 London residency dates are:

JUNE
12 – O2 Academy Brixton
13 – O2 Academy Brixton
14 – O2 Academy Brixton
15 – O2 Academy Brixton **
19 – O2 Academy Brixton
20 – O2 Academy Brixton
21 – O2 Academy Brixton
22 – O2 Academy Brixton **

** Sunday shows run from 5pm-9pm

It comes after the group previously delivered a six night residency at Brixton Academy in 2022.

Last year saw the group debut a new song called ‘X Ray Eyes’ via the surprise medium of NTS Radio, while a press release for their upcoming performance at Primavera Sound suggested that a new album is on the way.

“If this is a celebration, then let’s embrace LCD Soundsystem’s ‘All My Friends’ as the official anthem of Primavera Sound Barcelona 2025,” the Primavera listing said.

““Almost twenty years after giving the world this dance-rock ode to friendship, the influential band led by James Murphy will come back to the festival (and with a new album!) to make it clear that, although they are an inherent part of our best memories, their time is always now.”

2024 also saw the group play a triumphant set on the first day of Glastonbury, as well as a headline set at east London’s All Points East Festival.

Hailing that London set as “engaging and enthralling”, Rolling Stone UK wrote: “While almost identical to their headline performance here in 2018 in terms of setlist, LCD’s headline set is given a touching and tragic edge when James Murphy tells the crowd of the death of his business partner Justin Chearno. “We’re all fucking destroyed,” Murphy said, with Nancy Whang then singing ‘Someone Great’ through floods of tears.

“The communal support then showed for the band throughout the rest of the set gave ‘New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down’, ‘All My Friends’ and more even further gravitas.”
