Lana Del Rey has announced details of her ninth studio album Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Boulevard. You can check out the title track in full below.
The latest release from the US singer follows the success of Blue Bannisters and Chemtrails Over The Country Club, which were both released in 2021.
Due for release on 10th March 2023, confirmation of the album comes after Del Rey teased an album announcement last week.
Appearing at the Women’s Guild Cedars-Sinai Disco Ball in Beverly Hills, she said: ““I won’t tell you when it’s coming out, but I can tell you I’m making an announcement about it on the 7th, so what do we have, a week? Seven days? I’m very excited.”
The title track, released today was written by Del Rey and Mike Hermosa and produced by Lana Del Rey, Jack Antonoff, Drew Erickson and Zach Dawes.
It is a typically emotional charged effort, centred around a striking chorus which sees Del Rey asking: “When’s it gonna be my turn? Open me up, tell me you like it. F**k me to death.”
It comes after Del Rey told fans in October that her car had been targeted by thieves for the second time in a year, losing her backpack which contained key material for upcoming proojects.
Speaking to fans, she explained her car was broken into when she’d “stepped away [from it] for a minute.
“Inside of it was my computer and my three camcorders and my harddrives,” Del Rey said.
