Glastonbury line-up revealed: Kendrick Lamar and Paul McCartney to headline
They join Billie Eilish in headlining the world-famous festival
Glastonbury Festival has released the line-up for its 2022 edition, revealing that Kendrick Lamar and Paul McCartney will join Billie Eilish in topping the bill.
Festival organisers shared the first line-up poster today (March 4). Lorde, Pet Shop Boys, Megan Thee Stallion, Primal Scream, Charli XCX, Olivia Rodrigo, Sam Fender, Doja Cat, TLC, Mitski, Jessie Ware, Wolf Alice, Bicep, The Jesus And Mary Chain, Metronomy, Foals, St. Vincent, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Four Tet, Kacey Musgraves, Big Thief, IDLES, Phoebe Bridgers, Arlo Parks, Bonobo, Self Esteem, Wet Leg, Holly Humberstone and many more acts play this year’s event.
More acts are promised to be unveiled in the coming months ahead of Glastonbury, which takes place at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset from June 22-26, 2022.
Lamar and McCartney were both booked to headline Glastonbury 2020 with Taylor Swift until the COVID-19 pandemic forced its cancellation. The festival was also cancelled last year as the effects of the pandemic rolled on.
Last month, Little Simz was confirmed to headline the West Holts stage. Diana Ross had previously been announced to take the legends slot, and Eilish’s top spot was confirmed last year.
Eilish will headline the Friday night (June 24), while McCartney will play the Saturday night (June 25) and Lamar will round-out the festival on the Sunday (June 26).
Glastonbury Festival organiser Emily Eavis spoke the BBC about McCartney’s booking. “When he finally confirmed, we were beyond [excited],” she said.
“For us, having Paul McCartney is obviously a dream, a huge moment in our history. It means the world getting Paul McCartney to Glastonbury.”
Tickets for the world-famous festival sold-out when they were first released for the later cancelled 2020 edition. A resale, however, will take place on March 24 and March 27.
Fans who had tickets for 2020’s cancelled event have been able to roll over their passes twice due to the festival being postponed.
