Kanye West reunites with Jamie Foxx on Instagram, teases new collaboration
The pair previously teamed up for 'Slow Jamz' and 'Gold Digger'

Kanye West has reunited with his past collaborator Jamie Foxx, with the pair hinting at a new musical team-up.
West previously worked with actor and musician Foxx on ‘Slow Jamz’ from his 2004 debut ‘The College Dropout’, as well on the huge hit ‘Gold Digger’ from 2005’s ‘Late Registration’. Footage of the recording of the former track was featured in the first instalment of the Netflix documentary about West, ‘jeen-yuhs’.
On Saturday, West briefly went live on Instagram with Foxx, with the pair reminiscing about ‘Slow Jamz’ as well as talking up the prospect of another collaboration. “I told you, back at that time, man, that [Kanye] was young and hungry,” Foxx said, in a nod to the ‘Slow Jamz’ footage in ‘jeen-yuhs’.
“Now look at us,” he continued. “There’s a reason we ran into each other. Can’t wait for y’all to see the next step.” Any new work from the duo would mark their first recorded collaboration in 17 years. Foxx is not among the guests on ‘Donda 2’, West’s latest record, from which he released 16 tracks last week – exclusively available on his bespoke playback device, the Stem Player.
Among those who do guest on the album are Travis Scott, Migos, Future and XXXTentacion, as well as Alicia Keys and Fivio Foreign on ‘City of Gods’, a track first released earlier in the month. A launch gig for the record in Miami last Tuesday (February 22) descended into characteristic farce, with West taking the stage nearly three hours late and encountering a litany of technical issues. The show was live-streamed to 60 U.S. cinemas; notable in-person attendees included Diddy, French Montana and Elon Musk.
Meanwhile, a trio of posts on Instagram suggest that West is working on music with Baltimore dream pop duo Beach House. The photos, posted by the rapper on Saturday (February 26), are undated, but West appears to be wearing a similar outfit to the one he was wearing in that day’s Instagram Live. Beach House released their eighth studio album, ‘Once Twice Melody’, earlier this month.
