XL Recordings, the record label of elusive producer Burial, has teased that another release is on the way.
Posting on social media, the label shared a fresh 14-second snippet of new music, which is widely believed a new track from the secretive South London artist.
The clip showed off a rave-geared sound, while a distorted image appeared to show off Burial’s trademark “cross” symbol hidden behind the XL Recordings logo.
Interestingly, any upcoming work on XL Records would also mark Burial’s first solo release with the label. In recent years, he has released music on labels aside from Kode9’s Hyperdub label, where he emerged and began releasing music for almost 20 years.
Burial’s latest EP came in 2022’s Streetlands, while more recently he joined forces with Kode9 on the surprise track ‘Infirmary/Unknown Summer’, which arrived via Fabric Originals after the label teased the new release through cryptic billboards posted across East London.
