Watch Harry Styles cover Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic’ at second ‘Harryween’ show
He also dusted off his 2018 song 'Medicine' in New York
By Tom Skinner
Harry Styles covered ‘Toxic’ by Britney Spears during a Halloween show in New York last night (October 31).
The singer took to the stage at Madison Square Garden for the latest NYC concert of his ‘Love On Tour’ string of US dates.
As Setlist.FM reports, the ‘Harryween’ gig saw Styles deliver a 16-song setlist while dressed up as a harlequin clown. Towards the end of the show, the former One Direction star performed his 2018 song ‘Medicine’ before transitioning into a feral, full-band rendition of Spears’ 2004 classic.
The previous evening (October 30), Styles dressed up as Dorothy from ‘The Wizard Of Oz’ and covered ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’. You can tune in to both performances below.
Harry Styles’ current run of dates, in support of his 2019 album ‘Fine Line’, is due to wrap up at the UBS Arena in New York on November 28. His next concert will take place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin this Wednesday (November 3).
The singer played New York’s MSG last month and dedicated ‘Kiwi’ to Halsey, who was in attendance that evening.
Last December, Styles postponed the UK/European leg of his ‘Love On Tour’ indefinitely due to uncertainties surrounding the coronavirus pandemic. He was initially set to hit the road in April 2020.
“Everyone’s health and safety remains our top priority,” he wrote in a statement. “I really hope to play these shows and will have news for you in the new year on when they will take place.”
