Green Day‘s side-project The Coverups have announced details of two intimate London shows next week.
The group, which was formed in 2018, sees frontman Billie Joe Armstrong joined by bassist Mike Dirnt and touring guitarist Jason White, alongside the likes of tour manager Bill Schneider and engineer Chris Dugan.
The group have today confirmed they’ll perform at The Garage in North London next Tuesday (February 27) before returning for a second date at London’s 100 Club on Friday (March 1).
They’ll be joined at the intimate venue by support act Lovebreakers on both dates. Tickets went on sale earlier today (February 22), but both shows appear to be sold out.
Captioning their official poster for the upcoming shows, The Coverups wrote: “Hello London! Come have fun with us!”
They previously teased the shows by sharing a photo of the Union flag, writing: “I’m so bored.”
Their last gig came with a whopping 31-song set on New Year’s Eve at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, California. They have been known to cover the likes of The Shondells, The Clash and David Bowie.
Green Day, meanwhile, will return to the UK this summer for a huge 2024 stadium tour behind new album Saviors.
“We’ve never been more excited to unleash new music than with Saviors, a record that’s meant to be rocked live, together,” the band said of the tour – which also takes in a 30 year celebration of Dookie and 20 years of American Idiot.
“So let’s thrash. We’ve got some amazing friends who are coming along for the ride!”
