Glastonbury 2024: The Last Dinner Party debut new songs and call for fans to vote during Other Stage set
A performance that saw the group gunning for all the top slots.

A mere 12 months ago, The Last Dinner Party made their Glastonbury debut with an opening 11AM set on the Woodsies Stage that introduced them to a packed Worthy Farm crowd.
But a year later, it’s a very different story. After winning the Rising Star award at the RS UK Awards last year, the group scooped the same gong at the Brit Awards and delivered the biggest chart-topping debut album by a UK band in nine years.
It’s no surprise, then, that a massive crowd greets them as they arrive on The Other Stage on Saturday afternoon. Across a solid hour in their company, they whizz through their debut album at pace – while also offering interesting glimpses at what’s next in their future.
Those glimpses came in the form of two songs: ‘Second Best’ and ‘The Killer’. ‘Second Best’, according to the band, is about “choosing to leave someone who only treats you as the second best”.
Before the group concluded with ‘Nothing Matters’, there was also a chance for singer Abigail Roberts to take an impassioned stand before next week’s general election.
“It really is up to us, the people, to make the change,” said Morris. “Keep going to protests, signing petitions that will be debated in government. Keep boycotting the right things, we’ve seen it works. Barclays pulled out of festivals. And respect each other,” she said.
On the basis of the reaction they received, it feels like even bigger stages at Glastonbury surely await.
