We're down at Worthy Farm and Glastonbury has begun!
By Nick Reilly
Glastonbury might kick off its main music programme tomorrow, but punters down on Worthy Farm have already been able to make the best of a dry and sunny festival so far.
As temperatures reached a balmy 26C on Wednesday, we headed out into the fields to capture a look at festival goers making the most of the heat and taking a vital rest before things really kick into gear. You can check out our selection of photos from day one below.
Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA will headline the Pyramid Stage, while the festival has announced a slew of developments in recent years – including the news that the festival’s towering Arcadia spider will be replaced by a giant dragonfly, that the Genosys stage will return to Block9 and the end of The Rabbit Hole after 17 years at the festival, replaced by new venues The Wishing Well and Scissors in The Park.
This year’s festival will also see headline Pyramid Stage sets streamed globally for the first time ever.
Fans worldwide will be able to watch Coldplay and Dua Lipa headline the Pyramid Stage worldwide on the BBC’s website, on Saturday and Friday nights respectively.
The good weather will also continue into this weekend too, with full weather forecast details to be found here.
