Fontaines D.C.’s Grian Chatten returns the favour and makes a cameo in JADE’s ‘Angel Of My Dreams’ video

Fontaines D.C.‘s Grian Chatten has made a cameo appearance in JADE’s ‘Angel Of My Dreams’ music video – and there’s an interesting link going on too.

Let’s go back to April, when Fontaines returned with the almighty ‘Starburster’. At the end of that video, we saw Grian walking into a studio as a photoshoot took place with a string of people dressed as angels. Jade Thirlwall could be seen in shot as she posed for the camera.

The former Little Mix star didn’t mention the cameo and only officially confirmed it after sharing photos of herself wearing an “I’m in a Fontaines D.C. video” t-shirt at Glastonbury.

Now, the connection deepens. Last Friday, JADE shared the video for her debut solo track ‘Angel Of My Dreams’. In that video, we see both Fontaines D.C.’s ‘Starburster’ clip and her own visuals coming together to essentially confirm they take place within the same universe.

The visuals seemingly overlap too. While ‘Starburster’ sees Chatten walking into the studio and having a brief look around, ‘Angel Of My Dreams’ shows the moment from Thirlwall’s perspective as Chatten looks slightly confused in the studio.

So there we have it. A favour well and truly returned! It also transpires that both videos were directed by Aube Perrie, and it was his idea to have the mutual cameos.

In a first look review, Rolling Stone UK described ‘Angel Of My Dreams‘ as “a firm two fingers to the dark side of the music industry”.

“This moment of bold defiance sees Jade emerge as a solo artist with something important to say. Now, we just can’t wait to hear more,” we wrote.
