Depeche Mode have shared details of a new live movie titled M, which captures the euphoric highs of their most recent tour.

The new film offers an up-close-and-personal look at their shows in Mexico City, which were held as part of the global ‘Memento Mori’ tour that took place between 2023 and 2024.

It’ll arrive in theatres later this year and is directed by award-winning filmmaker Fernando Frias, who promises to take viewers on a “profound musical journey”.

“Through Frias’ creative lens, the cinematic experience weaves footage from the three sold-out shows at Mexico City’s Foro Sol Stadium to explore the parallels between the themes on Depeche Mode’s latest album ‘Memento Mori’ and the deep connection to death and mortality in Mexican culture,” a new description states.

The film is also set to take a look at the band’s lasting influence and the close bond they have shared with their fans.

The three Mexico City shows celebrated the release of the band’s celebrated 15th studio album Memento Mori and saw the band play to more than 3million fans globally as they embarked on 112 shows around the world.

A release date is yet to be announced.
