Coldplay have announced their new single ‘feelslikeimfallinginlove’, just weeks before the band gear up to headline Glastonbury for a record-breaking fifth time.
Posting on social media, the group confirmed that the track will arrive on June 21. It comes after they previously shared a brief teaser of the upbeat song last week, alongside the telling hashtag #flifil.
It marks their first single since 2022’s ‘Let Somebody Go’, a duet with Selena Gomez which appeared on their 2021 album Music of the Spheres.
While it’s unclear if the new song marks the start of a new album campaign, singer Chris Martin has previously said that the band would stop making music in 2025.
“Well I know I can tell you: our last proper record will come out in 2025 and after that I think we will only tour,” Martin said during a 2021 interview with Jo Wiley. “Maybe we’ll do some collaborative things but the Coldplay catalogue, as it were, finishes then.”
Further new music was previewed in Greece earlier this week when they debuted a new acoustic song at the end of their Athens gig.
On Sunday (June 9), the tour stopped at the Olympic Stadium in the Greek capital, and ended with a preview of a brand new song.
“We have a new song which you weren’t supposed to hear until September but I’m going to play it for you now one time,” Martin said to the crowd.
The frontman added: “It would be better if you didn’t put this on the internet. I know that is difficult to ask. But we [want] you to treat this like a rehearsal between us. This is called ‘All My Love’. This is how we feel about all of you.”
Elsewhere, Coldplay recently shared a new update from their eco-friendly world tour, revealing that they have reduced their emissions by a huge 59 per cent.
