Coldplay and BTS join forces in intergalactic ‘My Universe’ video
The single comes from Coldplay's forthcoming album, Music of The Spheres
Coldplay and BTS have united in an interstellar video for the British band’s latest single, ‘My Universe’.
Since its debut on Thursday (30 September) the video has already had more than eight million views.
The two bands, along with the alien band Supernova 7, are united via hologram by DJ Lafrique in defiance of a ban on music.
Sung in English and Korean, emotional lyrics include: “You are my universe, and I just want to put you first.”
As well as racking up views on YouTube the single was voted the best new music by Billboard’s poll, the results of which came out on Friday (September 24)
‘My Universe’ is the latest single from Coldplay’s upcoming album ‘Music Of The Spheres’, which is out October 15.
It follows the previous singles: “Higher Power” and “Coloratura”.
The Max Martin-produced album is the British band’s ninth and will feature 12 tracks, with some made up of emoji symbols such as a red heart and a planet.
‘My Universe’ is also on track to become BTS’ highest-charting UK single to date.
The Official Charts Company say that the song is at number 2, and a mere 1000 sales behind ‘Shivers’ by Ed Sheeran.
If ‘My Universe stay in the second spot it will be the Clocks singers’ highest-charting single since Something Just Like This in 2017. For BTS it would be their highest-charting single in the UK so far, having previously reached number 3 last year with Dynamite.
The song will feature on Coldplay’s upcoming album Music Of The Spheres, released on October 15.
