Camila Cabello unveiled as the new face of Bacardí
"I’ve always been around the brand since growing up in Miami, which makes this partnership even more exciting," she said
Camila Cabello has been unveiled as the new face of Bacardí – and her first commercial for the rum giant is the perfect reflection of what they’re all about.
The advert is the first in their Do What Moves You campaign and, rest assured, Camila lives up to that mantra as she’s seen living it up in the Caribbean. As her new single ‘I Luv It’ rings out in the background, the singer is seen living it up in a series of sun-soaked locations including a rooftop party, a bar and a party on the beach.
The new campaign is being hailed as the perfect encapsulation of the “spirit of celebration and authenticity that BACARDÍ stands for”. What’s more, it’s a natural fit for Cabello – who says that the celebrated rum is the drink of choice in her family.
“My family has forever loved BACARDÍ, my grandmother’s favorite cocktail is a Cuba Libre (BACARDÍ and Cola), and I’ve always been around the brand since growing up in Miami, which makes this partnership even more exciting,” she said.
When asked which artist she would love to drink with, living or dead, it was the same drink she chose: “I’d have a drink with David Bowie, and I’d have a BACARDÍ and Cola and ask him what he would want to have.”
Camila added: “To me, BACARDÍ is synonymous with the spirit of the Caribbean, and of course, good cocktails and a great party. The campaign we worked on is unlike any project I’ve done before. I can’t wait for fans to experience it.
“The BACARDÍ team is thrilled to partner with one of the biggest stars of today for our newest campaign,” said Roberto Ramirez Laverde, Global SVP of BACARDĺ Rum. “Our shared Caribbean heritage and love of music are the driving forces behind this multifaceted global collaboration. Camila Cabello’s electrifying energy matches perfectly with our brand DNA, which has always championed individuality and doing what moves you. This campaign is only the start—we can’t wait for the world to see just how she embodies the spirit of BACARDĺ.”
