BTS’ RM says the band will be ‘back for sure’ in 2025
‘I believe all our solo activities are important trips for our next chapter’
BTS‘ RM has told fans that the band will be “back for sure” in 2025.
Back in June 2022, the K-Pop mega-stars announced that they would be going on hiatus and the seven members – Jin, Jimin, RM, J-Hope, Suga, V and Jung kook – would focus on solo projects for the time being.
This weekend (August 12), RM hosted a livestream on Weverse where he spoke about the boyband’s future.
After reading a letter from an ARMY member about how much the group has meant to fans over the past decade (via Billboard) RM shared: “I hope our songs and solo projects could be another reminder to you guys of how important ARMY was, has been and will be in our lives at the same time.”
He continued: “I hope that it is a reminder that spring will come again. Please continue to keep BTS alive in your hearts, in this moment and perhaps throughout your entire life.”
RM also spoke about Suga’s solo tour this year, who “told me that there were a great number of ARMY across the globe wanting the seven of us to reunite and perform again”.
He also reflected on how his bandmates are “all doing solo stuff right now”, with some serving in South Korea’s mandatory military service, adding: “But as I’m working on my solo project, I keep thinking this way: ‘This is like a vacation.'”
He explained: “What I mean by that is that it’s a kind of vacation that we, BTS and ARMY, need to take to successfully come back as a whole. So, I believe all our solo activities are important trips for our next chapter, and they’re also trips which we must go on in order to safely come back home.”
He then gave fans a more concrete idea of when they could look forward to the group returning. “Eventually, when we get back and reunite together in 2025… [we will] be back for sure. We’ll be joining together again. And that will be in 2025.”
Jung Kook‘s recent solo debut single ‘Seven’ featuring Latto has become a summer anthem, and he recently dropped two new versions of the track.
Speaking to Rolling Stone UK about the release, Jungkook said he was “both nervous and excited to know how people will respond”, but added that he was “practiced diligently and was hands-on throughout the process to be able to show the best version of myself”.
BTS’ V also officially unveiled his debut solo album, ‘Layover’, last week.
