Billie Eilish has announced details of an upcoming climate emergency event in London called ‘Overheated’.
The six-day programme of talks and live performances is due to take place at The O2 Arena in London between June 10-12, 16 and 25-26 to coincide with Eilish‘s 2022 UK and Ireland headline tour.
Per a press release, ‘Overheated’ will bring a host of climate activists, musicians and designers to various spaces at the Greenwich venue to “discuss the climate crisis and the work they are doing to make a difference”.
On June 10, Eilish will give an introduction to the event alongside her brother and collaborator Finneas ahead of a keynote speech from an as-yet-unannounced special guest. Sigrid, meanwhile, is scheduled to perform as part of the ‘Music Climate Session’ on June 16.
Additionally, the likes of Eilish, Finneas, Yungblud, Girl In Red and Glastonbury co-organiser Emily Eavis have contributed to the new ‘Overheated’ documentary, which will be screened across all dates.
Eavis wrote: “Honoured to be part of this film, curated by Billie Eilish and her family. Can’t be defeated, united for our planet #overheated.”
Tickets for ‘Overheated’ go on general sale here at 9am BST this Friday (May 6). An O2 Priority and Live Nation pre-sale will begin at the same time tomorrow (May 4). All profits from the event will go to the Support + Feed and REVERB organisations.
Maggie Baird – Eilish and Finneas’ mother, and the founder of Support + Feed – said: “We are thrilled to be in London and to have this opportunity to connect and discuss different ways we can take action to mitigate the climate crisis.”
Billie Eilish’s 2022 UK/Ireland ‘Happier Than Ever’ tour kicks off in Belfast on June 3 – you can find her full schedule and buy any remaining tickets here.
The pop star will then headline Glastonbury 2022 on Friday, June 24. Tickets for this year’s festival are now sold out.
