AC/DC are seemingly teasing a big new announcement, sparking fresh speculation that the rock icons could be about to announce their first world tour in eight years.
Over on the band’s social media channels, a mysterious teaser trailer shows the band’s distinctive lightning bolt, before the words ‘ARE YOU READY’ appear on screen, alongside their 1990 song of the same name.
Now, fans believe that the group could be about to head out on their first world tour since 2016. It would also mark the official return of Brian Johnson, after hearing issues forced him to leave the dates and be replaced by Axl Rose.
But as he told NME in 2020, innovations from hearing expert Stephen Ambrose mean that Johnson is now able to return to the stage.
The first taste of that return came when AC/DC performed at the Power Trip Festival in California last October, which marked their first show together in seven years.
Although the tour is yet to be confirmed, the loose lips of Munich mayor Dieter Reiter all but confirmed the tour late last year.
He told reporter Mathias Flasskamp that the group will perform at the city’s Olympiastadion in June, before admitting he “didn’t know it was supposed to be a secret.”
Rolling Stone UK has contacted the band’s representative for comment.
