Apple Music has been unveiled for 2024, revealing the platform’s list of the biggest songs of the year.
Released today (December 3) it’s available via the Apple Music App and allows users to explore their end-of-year statistics, as well as finding out if they made it into the Top 100, 500 or 1000 listeners of their favourite artists.
In addition, users can discover the longest consecutive number of days they’ve played tunes from Apple Music, as well as Replay By Month – which lets users relive their musical choices from each month, Top Artist Streak and the first date they listened to a top song, artist and album of the year.
As for the songs of the year, Apple Music has revealed the 2024 year-end charts, which takes account of Apple Music streams, Shazam tags and radio plays.
It transpires that 2024 was the biggest year for women in global songs chart history, with some 39 of the top global songs coming from female identifying artists. They included Taylor Swift’s ‘Cruel Summer’, Sabrina Carpenter‘s ‘Espresso’ and Billie Eilish’s ‘Birds of a Feather’.
The global Shazam chart, meanwhile, showed that Benson Boone and Teddy Swims lead the charts with their songs ‘Beautiful Things’ and ‘Lose Control’, while Dua Lipa tops the first ever Shazam global radio spins chart with her hit ‘Houdini’.
