Adele teases dramatic new video for ‘Oh My God’
"There’s so much coming, I’m excited for you all to see it"
Adele has teased a new video for ‘Oh My God’, which will be the next single to be taken from last year’s hit album ’30’.
On social media, Adele shared a fifteen second clip of the song, and black and white visuals which see her stood in front of a huge ring light.
“Rested and Re-Set! Feeling ready for 2022, there’s so much coming, I’m excited for you all to see it,” Adele captioned the footage. The full video will be released next Wednesday (January 12) at 5pm GMT (9am PT / 12pm ET).
It will be the second fully produced video to be taken from ’30’, following last year’s comeback single ‘Easy On Me’, and the album’s third video overall. In November, she shared an intimate home performance of album track ‘To Be Loved’.
The new teaser follows news earlier this week that ’30’ was officially the biggest selling album of 2021 in the UK.
Adele’s first album for six years sold over 600,000 equivalent album sales, including 448,000 physical copies. It saw off competition from the likes of Ed Sheeran‘s ‘=’, and ABBA‘s first album in 40 years, ‘Voyage’.
’30’ also tied with Olivia Rodrigo’s debut album ‘SOUR’ for most weeks spent at the top of the album charts, with both albums holding the position for five weeks.
Adele is also the joint-most nominated artist at this year’s revamped BRIT Awards, with the singer up for four prizes including ‘Album Of The Year’ and ‘Artist Of The Year’.
The singer was originally set to release her fourth album in late 2020, before it was delayed due to coronavirus, and as she told Rolling Stone UK in a recent exclusive cover feature, the pandemic could have stopped the record’s release for good.
“If it wasn’t coming out now, I think I probably would never put it out,” she said. “I know I would’ve changed my mind and been like, ‘It’s moved on. Let’s start the next album.’ And I couldn’t do that to this album. I feel like it deserves to come out.”
