Adele has revealed that she has no plans of making new music anytime soon and says a break is on the cards when her current shows end.

The singer made the comments during a new interview with German outlet ZDF, ahead of the start of her residency in a purpose-built venue in Munich next month.

“I don’t have any plans for new music, at all,” she revealed. “I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”

The run of dates between August 2-24 will take place at the Munich Messe arena, which has been created specifically for the new run of shows. She’ll conclude her Las Vegas residency later this year, before taking the aforementioned break.

During the discussion, the ‘Hello’ singer also explained revealed that part of the reason why she is seeking a break from music is because of a struggle with the limelight.

“I miss everything about before I was famous, I think probably being anonymous the most,” she said. “I don’t like being famous. I love that I get to make music all the time whenever I want and people are receptive to it and like it, because that’s pretty unimaginable… that never happens to people.

“But, the fame side of it, I absolutely hate and I miss everything about before all of this had happened. The fact that people are even interested in my voice and my songs is pretty wild, I don’t think it ever gets normal, you know? So it’s worth it… [it’s just finding] the balance.”

She’s also keeping her eye on UK talent too, having recently hailed Rachel Chinouriri as “absolutely amazing”.
