Adele considered “three very different” songs for comeback single
One of the other choices was inspired by Goldfrapp, and the other is "very Carpenters"

Adele is back again with new music, but ‘Easy On Me’ wasn’t always the first choice for her comeback single.
The star says she weighed up “three very different” options before settling on the song to be her first new music in five years.
‘Easy On Me’ is the first single to be taken from Adele’s forthcoming album, ’30’, which is due out next month.
Adele joined Zoe Ball on her BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, and talked about the difficulty she had when choosing the first song to release.
“There was three options for the first single”, adding they were “very, very different, all of them.”
Adele then shared a little about the other choices. “Obviously ‘Easy on Me,’ and then there’s another one which is like, I got very into Goldfrapp again,” she explained.
“I was like, ‘I can do this music too!’. I can do one song, I definitely couldn’t pull off what Alison [Goldfrapp does], she’s the absolute Queen,” praised Adele.
“There’s another one that’s very sort of ’70s, like piano, singer-songwriter-y,” she added. “When I say piano, I mean it’s got a whole band on it, but just very Carpenters, like very Elton, whatever.”
Adele has also broken records again with her new single. It was released at midnight on October 15 and fans were ready to stream it.
‘Easy On Me’ now holds the record for the most streams in a single day, after it overtook BTS and their song ‘Butter’.
The ‘Hello’ star has also announced a US TV special to coincide with the release of ’30’.
‘Adele: One Night Only’ will feature a two-hour live performance and an interview with Oprah Winfrey.
It will air on CBS on November 14, and it is not yet known when it will air in the UK.
In her first televised interview since her return, Adele is expected to talk about the album, her divorce from Simon Konecki, her weight loss, and being a mother to a young son.
She previously said she hopes that some of the tracks on ’30’ will help to explain things to their child following the divorce.
