Mumford & Sons announce comeback album ‘Rushmere’ with title track
The band’s first album in seven years will land in March.
Mumford & Sons have announced details of a new album, their first in seven years.
Rushmere, the band’s first album since 2018’s Delta, will land on March 28 via EMI, and is being previewed today by its title track.
It is their first album as a trio since the departure of founding member Winston Marshall in 2018. It follows frontman Marcus Mumford going solo in 2022 with a self-titled album.
The new album is named after the pond on Wimbledon Common in London where the band first discussed the inception of Mumford & Sons in the mid 2000s. Along these lines, it sees them return to a sound closer to their original guise, having taken a turn towards darker and rockier textures on Delta.
