Mae Muller ends hiatus and shares new song ‘Breakaway’
The former UK Eurovision entry had taken more than a year away from music

Mae Muller has returned after a musical hiatus, sharing brand new single ‘Breakaway’ – check it out below.
The singer, who emerged in 2023 when representing the UK at Eurovision with ‘I Wrote A Song’, had taken a break of more than a year before emerging with the new single.
“I wrote ‘Breakaway’ in a time when I felt quite lost as an artist,” Muller said. “I was putting so much pressure on myself with my newfound independence, that after a while I just decided to get in the studio and pour everything out and whatever I ended up with, at least it would be a weight off my chest.”
She added: “That was June last year and has ended up being one of my favourite songs that I’ve ever written and the start to this new era. It’s about navigating vulnerability, but also finding my power within it, whilst not losing the joy along the way.”

Muller will make her live comeback at the Isle of Wight Festival in June, with other dates expected to be announced.
