Lewis Capaldi hires Adele and Beyoncé’s songwriter for forthcoming album
Songwriter and producer Ryan Tedder also has credits with the likes of Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Paul McCartney
Lewis Capaldi has employed the services of One Republic’s Ryan Tedder – who has previously worked with the likes of Beyoncé and Adele – to help with his forthcoming second album.
Songwriter and producer Tedder has previously worked on hits such as Beyoncé‘s ‘Halo’, Adele‘s ‘Rumour Has It’ and Leona Lewis’ ‘Bleeding Love’. He also has credits with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, Paul McCartney and more.
The Sun reported that Capaldi has become the latest star to employ his talents, with Tedder telling the newspaper: “I was playing the songs an hour ago in the car and it’s just like, goosebumps!
He added: “The guy could sing a random song in Spanish and it would still give me goosebumps. He’s so good.”
Capaldi is also working once again with his friend, singer-songwriter JC Stewart, co-writer on 2019 track ‘Hollywood’. “We’ve written a few songs in the last year or so. But first and foremost we’re mates, so we keep it there,” Stewart said.
Tedder also told The Sun about OneRepublic’s first album in five years, ‘Human.’ and said it is full-steam ahead following the release of album Human, their first in five years. “We’re just now finally restarting the engines there,” he said.
“I want to keep that going for at least ten years while we still enjoy touring the world. I also have some side- project stuff that I’m now a part of, so I’ll leave it at that.”
Capaldi’s as-yet-unannounced second album will follow 2019’s smash hit ‘Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent’, which was the best-selling album in the UK for both 2019 and 2020. ‘Someone You Loved’ was also 2019’s best-selling single.
With its follow-up reportedly due in the first half of next year, Capaldi will also headline next summer’s Isle Of Wight Festival. The bill also includes Muse, Kasabian, Lionel Richie and Sigrid.
