JADE has won the Trailblazer Award at tonight’s Rolling Stone UK Awards 2024 – see her acceptance speech in full below.

After delighting attendees with a performance of an alternate version of debut single ‘Angel of My Dreams’ at the start of the night, the former Little Mix singer was presented with the honour by Apple Music presenter Rebecca Judd.

Picking up the award, JADE reflected on how ‘Angel Of My Dreams’ was the catalyst for her solo journey, joking that she was glad we were “holding space” for the lyrics, referring to the viral soundbite from a recent Wicked movie interview.

“Being able to be brutally honest about my journey and my career, and for that to be well received is really amazing,” she added.

She concluded: “Lastly I want to thank myself, because it’s really scary going from being in a girl band for over 10 years, that was all I knew for so long, to coming out as a solo artist – I was terrified. So I’m really proud of myself.”

The second annual Rolling Stone UK Awards kicked off earlier tonight with a performance from English Teacher, who delighted with a stunning rendition of ‘You Blister My Paint’ from their Mercury Prize-winning debut album This Could Be Texas. They were followed by performances from Confidence Man and JADE herself.
